Ermy Borlenghi Bonfield | Interior Designer

Ms. Bonfield is the President of Houston interior design firm, 3 E Designs, Inc.  With a degree in fashion, fabric design and interior design from the Art Institute in Milan and 20 years in the European fashion industry under her belt, the talented designer now specializes in interiors for large commercial and residential projects. She recently completed the design of the luxurious, one-of-a-kind, Italianate-style Hotel Granduca.

A designer with astute attention to detail, when it came to the concept of Hotel Granduca, which also offers temporary residence, Ms. Bonfield says, “I wanted people to feel as if they are in their own homes, with their own luxurious linens, a comfortable sofa, great chairs and colors conducive of happiness and peace.”

Ms. Bonfield is also the creative force behind Houston’s most renowned high-rise condominium, Montebello, and she spearheaded the interior design of other upscale high-rise condominiums including Four-Leaf Towers and Villa d’Este Condominium, and Four Oaks Place, a four-building office complex.  She was involved with the designs for Uptown Park, a European village-style shopping center in the city’s most cosmopolitan retail and commercial district.

In between projects, Ms. Bonfield has been involved with the Houston Grand Opera and the Houston Symphony, as well as the Cerebral Palsy Association, March of Dimes, the Good Samaritan Foundation, Villa de Matel and the Aids Ministry of the Catholic Charities. She was honored as “Business Woman of the Year” by the Cerebral Palsy Association in addition to honors by the Houston Symphony and the Houston Symphony League.  She currently holds a seat on the Symphony Board and is chairing, for the third consecutive year, D’Art for Art, an event of the Crooked Tree Arts Center in Petoskey, Michigan. Ms. Bonfield is part of the Accademia della Cucina Italiana, an international organization that promotes and preserves the culture of the foods of Italy.
